The family house Frankić is located in Mrnjavci, hamlet with rich and colorful history. The village is first mentioned 500 years ago and it was, according to written records and legends, founded by brothers Mrnjavčevići historically known as the descendants of the famous epic hero of this region, Prince Marko. In various folk songs is sung about courage and bravery of villagers in the liberation struggle against the Ottoman Empire, which was the 16.st laid claim to these lands.
The courage, physical strength and quickness are today the first adjectives that are used throughout the Dalmatian hinterland for descendants of Mrnjavčevići, ages old generations of villagers, both to the legend and tradition and also because the true historical facts.
Through turbulent 500 year history of the entire landscape, frequent changes of rulers and the monarchy, occupiers and liberators, have changed the laws of recording and naming of the population, so that in time the descendants of basic lineage Mrnjavčević distributed to families whose surnames final list and legitimize the Austro-Hungarian rulers during his reign in the region. That is the very etymology of surnames was somewhat specific job or character traits of the head of the family. The tradition of going to work across border continued almost to the present day and most of the current inhabitants are familiar with European languages and especially German.
The rich history of this region can be felt in number of items aged several hundred years, which are still in use or have been part of the planning area of the house. Especially proud of the original costumes, then dress uniform, one of the family ancestors for whom the reputation of heroism and great passion for horses and that time legendary Emperor Franz Joseph.
The foundations of the house chronologically dated to 350 years ago, while during the recent renovation really taken good care of it to preserve the originality of the building, but upgraded with everything needed for a comfortable stay and retention.
